Impact through the years
Organised by Health Care Without Harm Europe, CleanMed Europe conferences bring together healthcare leaders and champions of sustainability to share ideas, innovations and solutions to accelerate the transition to sustainable healthcare.

Showcasing cutting-edge practices in sustainable healthcare, CleanMed Europe is the ideal venue for healthcare innovators to network and share ideas, finding new ways to drive change within their organisations and communities.
Leading Healthcare Climate Action
From 23–25 June 2026, we welcomed the global sustainable healthcare community to CleanMed Europe 2026, our flagship event delivered as part of London Climate Action Week. We were humbled by the incredible response and inspired by the energy and commitment of everyone who joined us.
Over three days, more than 470 healthcare professionals and sustainability champions from 39 countries came together to exchange ideas, showcase innovation, and explore practical solutions for building more sustainable health systems.
From the vibrant atmosphere of our opening day in London to the collaborative discussions and virtual sessions that followed, this year’s conference demonstrated that the movement for sustainable healthcare is stronger, more ambitious, and more connected than ever.
Redefining Healthcare
CleanMed Europe 2025 took place online from 10–13 June 2025 to inspire everyone involved in healthcare to lead the charge, enhancing patient care while making sustainability a core commitment within the sector and beyond. The conference invited participants to share and learn from each other, embracing innovative ideas while building new connections with sustainability leaders across Europe, regardless of where they are on the journey.

CleanMed Beginnings
Founded in the United States in 2001 by Health Care Without Harm, CleanMed soon gained a global reputation as the premier conference on environmental sustainability in the healthcare sector. The success of the US conferences inspired the launch of CleanMed Europe in Vienna in 2004. Since then, the conference has been held in several cities across the continent, including Stockholm, Malmö, Oxford, Copenhagen, and Nijmegen.
In 2020, CleanMed Europe was held online for the first time in its history. This virtual format opened the event to a new, global audience of healthcare and sustainability stakeholders, making it the most well-attended CleanMed Europe conference to date. Embracing this new format that allows for even more opportunities to engage, CleanMed Europe continued as an online event in following editions. In 2023, it also introduced regional events to strengthen in-person and local collaboration. Networking remains key to the CleanMed Europe experience, both virtually and in-person, with participants using the conference app to exchange messages and connect.
